How to join

The best way to join the club is to come along to one of the training sessions in your running gear and join the training run. For the seniors, Thursday evenings are best. We are pleased to welcome runners of any standard from complete beginner to international. If you have any doubts you can speak to any of the committee members who will be happy to advise you. The junior section again welcomes runners of all standards, and ages from 9-16. There is no minimum standard, just a willingness to train to improve. We welcome sprinters, throwers, jumpers and middle distance runners, and offer coaching specialists in all disciplines. The emphasis is on athletics for enjoyment and fitness. Participation in competitions in sports-hall, cross-country and track & field is strongly encouraged.

The Club enters teams in the Wessex Young Athletes league, the Southern Men’s and Women’s track & field leagues and in the Oxford Mail Cross-country league.

Both senior and junior runners are welcome to train with the club for a few weeks on a trial basis. After that we would ask you to join. Membership forms can be obtained from any of the Club committee or one of the junior coaches.
