The majority of the 2019/2020 XC season fixtures are now confirmed and can be found here. Please add them to your diary.
We had a hugely successful league season with a great turn out for all fixtures last year and it would be great have that again.
Phil Marshall & E-J Bailey will automatically enter anyone who ran an Oxford Mail league race last year into the 2019/20 league.
They will also enter anyone that they have spoken directly to already, but if there is anyone who is new or returning to cross country and wants to race (it’s free for all competing members) , please let them know.

After successfully qualifying via the South East schools competition earlier in the season, three of our young athletes had the honour of representing Berkshire against the best multi-eventers in the country.
Reuben Langdon had a strong two days of competition in the senior boys decathlon, getting close to his best in all events, including a PB of 9.68m in the shot put to finish in an excellent ninth place overall.
Newbury had two athletes in the senior girls heptathlon. Despite her main discipline of pole vault not being included in the heptathlon, Trinity O’Connor had a strong showing with two PBs in the shot put and long jump to take 14th place overall. Competing in only her second ever multi-event, Bo Stewart finished a creditable 24th.
Karen’s Sunday morning hill sessions will recommence this Sunday from 9:30 at Northcroft
Solent half marathon
Laura Buchanan finished in 85th position (9th female) with a new PB of 1:32:48
New Swindon Half maratahon
Andy Ind finished in 6th position and 2nd M40 with a new PB of 1:16:32
Highclere 10km

The final results for the junior and senior races can be found in the following locations.
Thank you to the Carnarvon family and Highclere Castle for their generosity in allowing us to run the race on their private estate.
We would also like to thank our sponsor Stryker for their generosity in supporting the race and the incredible efforts of our volunteers from the race charity MS Society UK.
A big thank you to to all members of Newbury Athletic Club who either volunteered today or in the build up to the race.
We hope everyone enjoyed the race/their post race goodies and we look forward to welcoming you back next year.
We have two more mass junior sessions outside at Fifth Road and they will finish at 7pm due to fading light. We move to St Bart’s sports hall on 10th Oct. Indoor times are the same 6 – 7:15 (sign in at 5:50)
Online entries to this years race are now closed. If you would still like to join us at Highclere Castle on Sunday there will be entries available on the day, the price will be £16 and are cash only. We have a maximum number of entries allowed and once that number is reached on the day entries will be closed.
For anyone who didn’t receive the race instruction email, a copy of the instructions can be found here.
