Sports hall league – Match 1 – TVAC – Sunday 18th

Report from Emma Guite & Keith Baker

sportshall1Well done and thank you to the 12 young athletes who competed on Sunday at Eton.  Once again the lack of numbers was disappointing meaning that many of the athletes had their chosen events changed at the last minute as we made up composite teams with other clubs including Slough Juniors, Team Kennet and Reading AC. This enabled some of them to compete in the relays but unfortunately we had a couple who lost out on events due to our lack of numbers.
One result to come through so far is that Amber White won the U15 girls speed bounce with an amazing 81 jumps in 30 seconds!!  Full results will be posted when received.
Thank you also to the parents who helped out with officiating the long jump today
Pictured is the junior team that competed today.

Junior Sports Hall League – match 1 – 21st October – TVAC

Report from Emma Carter

Newbury fielded a small but very keen team for the first match of the county league which saw the largest number of entries ever recorded for the league.  Newbury competed in composite teams with Slough Juniors, Team Kennet and Maidenhead to record some great team and individual results. At the half way point the U13 boys are in 8th place, U11 girls in 11th and the U11 boys team in 8th place.

Special thanks go to Mark and Sue Clinch for helping to assist in officiating the speed bounce with me and for Jules Evernden for handling the teams and making sure they all got to their events and knew what they were all doing.  Full details will follow as soon as I have them.

The second match is on November 25th where we would like to see more juniors turn out to see if we can both pick up some prizes & get individuals selected for the county teams!

I have also been approached by a couple of willing parents to car share so if lifts/distance is a problem please let me know and we can sort it out for you.
