Thank you so much to everyone that raced at the weekends Oxfordshire Cross Country League at Bo Peep Caravan Park in Adderbury, it really was amazing to see so many Newbury AC blue vests on the course and every place really does count. If we can get two more strong turnouts for the next two fixtures (Sunday 4th February: Lawns Park, Swindon & Sunday 4th March: Hill End Centre, Farmoor), we could get Division One 1st & 2nd places in the Women’s competition and win the titles for Division One, Two AND Three for our Men’s A, B and C teams.

In this Round 3 fixture our Senior Women again stormed to another dominant team victory with Izzy Fry in 1st (U20 Women), Jessica Franklin 2nd (1st Veteran Women) and Sophie Crumly 5th (2nd Senior Women) to make it 3 wins from 3 fixtures and all three ladies are currently leading their individual categories overall.

Our Men’s team had a fantastic 15 finishers in the top 73 of the 291 strong field. Leading the Men home was Alex Muir in 2nd place which leaves him and the team heading the Senior Men’s individual and team standings after Round 3.

In the Junior races our U13 girls retained their position as team league leaders with strong racing from Josie Robertson (4th), Sophie Bhatt (9th), Phoebe Ryder (15th) and Miriam Cooper (16th); Ethan Robertson was 4th in U9 boys, Luci Robertson 4th in U15 girls and Tobias Allen 6th in U15 boys.
