Unfortunately due to the continuing poor weather the Final Oxford Mail League Cross Country fixture has been cancelled. This is the statement from the web-site: http://oxonxc.org.uk:
The continuing wintry weather conditions mean it is not possible to set up and run the event in a safe and timely manner and so the League and the organising clubs (Eynsham RR & Woodstock Harriers) have reluctantly agreed to cancel the event. It was a hard decision because the feedback about the venue last year was extremely good and we had made arrangements to improve the event with better parking facilities. However, safety for participants, volunteers and the set up crew had to be the priority in making our decision and even the prospect of a slight thaw between now and Sunday morning is very unlikely to improve conditions sufficiently.
Owing to the cancellation of the final fixture of the season, the final standings will now be determined on the best 3 out of 4 results. The awards presentations will therefore be scheduled for a later date, the arrangements for which will be posted here on the website within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully those arrangements will coincide with more clement weather conditions.
