Senior athletes of the round
As Cross Country Team Captain, this year Phil Marshall will be picking a Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s athlete of the round.
We had some superb candidates in both races with James Craggs and Jess Franklin both having great races to finish first NAC runner home respectively.
Richard Kennedy and Rebecca Downie both had their best races to date and I’m sure there’s more to come from both. Emma Downie finished as 4th U20 in her first Senior Women’s race which is a big step up in distance and there was very impressive cross country debuts from Bernie Gerrard, Dean Horton, Alexandra Bettley and Julie Kaesser.
The athletes of Round 1 are:
- Mike Wheeler who made a huge improvement from previous cross country outings finishing in 18th position overall and 3rd NAC athlete
- Laura Buchanan who had a brilliant cross country debut to finish in the Top 3 NAC finishers and therefore the Women’s A Team
Well done to both and every athlete that competed this weekend.
