Results for the Round 3 of the Oxfordshire Cross Country League fixture are now available via the link below:
The Senior Men once again were out in force and finished the fixture as runners up to Swindon AC. James Craggs was first athlete home in 8th with Mike Wheeler 15th and Mike Robbins 17th.
All seven A team scoring runners finished in the Top 32 of a field of 311 athletes. The strength in depth has been really impressive this season with Newbury AC once again comfortable finishing as the best B Team, 362 points clear of Witney Road Runners, with Dave Gilbert racing very well to earn his first Top 50 finish of the season.
The Senior Women continued to rely on a small number of athletes this season with just Jessica Franklin, Rachel Allen, Alexandra Bettley, Rebecca Downie and Roz Pearson having competed in all 3 rounds. Jess now moves clear as 1st overall V35 and Rachel moves up to 2nd V45.
This weeks athletes of the round though are going to team members who competed brilliantly after recently returning from either injury, illness or health scare. Well done to James Knight who raced just 3 weeks after a heart operation to maintain his overall Top 3 V40 position and Liz Harkness who was able to compete for the first time this cross country season finishing 4th V65.
The best result of the fixture was Charlie Adams finishing 6th in the U13 boys race, and helped the team to 4th place, joined by Aston Howse 14th and Issa Duggan 25th.
The clubs other competing juniors were Rupert Knight 21st U9 Boys, Lily-Mae Gerrard 19th U11 Girls, Charlotte Page-Smith 34th U11 Girls, Lilly Hughes 37th U11 Girls, George Studart 36th U11 Boys, Paddy Ward 45th U11 Boys, Jamie Fry 58th U11 Boys, Georgia Knight 24th U13 Girls, Libby Stockwell 27th U13 Girls, Rosie Stockwell 29th U13 Girls, Milla Brereton 31st U13 Girls, Anna Delavere 35th U13 Girls, Mawgan Bird 40th U13 Boys, Sophie Bhatt 9th U15 Girls and Rowan Chester 20th U15 Boys.
