Weekend Round-Up – 27th/28th October

A W55 team of Anne Stewart-Power, Jenny Eaton & Sarah Fowler travelled to Long Eaton in Derbyshire on Saturday to compete in the British Masters Cross Country Relay Championships on Saturday and were rewarded with a hard fought Silver Medal finishing the 3 * 3k course in a time of 41:11 only 50 secs behind the winners Bingley Harriers ( 40:18 – whose team boasted 3 very strong runners including a full international & the age group course record holder) and over 3 minutes ahead of 3rd placed Holme Pierrepoint. Anne & Jenny ran the 2nd and 3rd fastest times in the age group with Sarah in 7th. The conditions were a shock to the system – freezing cold, icy wind & drizzle – true cross-country weather! Incidentally the NAC time has only ever been beaten by Bingley in all the years the event has been run at this course.

At Sunday’s Clock Change Challenge 5k in Calne  Matt Green came 1st in 16:36, Phil Marshall was 3rd in 17:23 and Ben Wickens 5th in 18:18.

In much more temperate conditions Julie Kaesser completed the  Garmin Qawra 10K whilst on holiday in Malta.
