Remains unchanged for 2019, The Roc Newbury 10K will start and finish in Newbury town centre. A gentle climb for the first 3km is followed by a short descent and the rest of the course is flat. Approximately 7km of the course is on the road with the remainder on footpaths and the tow path alongside the canal. Course Map
Two shorter races for U16s will take place before the 10K on a flat course in the town centre on closed roads. Course Map
Newbury Athletic Club would like to express their thanks to Roc Technologies for their generous sponsorship of the race, enabling race proceeds to be donated to charity.
It has been agreed with the sponsors that in 2019, any proceeds from race entries (in excess of race costs), will be split between Newbury AC and The Wooden Spoon charity.
The Wooden Spoon charity changes children’s lives through the power of rugby. Each year they fund around 70 projects, from community programmes and specialist playgrounds to medical treatment centres and sensory rooms. Since 1983, they’ve distributed over £26 million to more than 700 projects, helping more than a million children.

Message to members of Newbury AC
To put on this event and benefit from a share of the race entry proceeds, we require the support of all our members. If you would like to run on the day please could you also nominate someone to help on the day (the hardest task is finding enough marshals).
There are also a large number of tasks (small and big) which can be completed by those who also want to run.
Every year, the proceeds from race entries raise much needed funds for local charities and other good causes which have previously included Sail 4 Cancer, The Newbury and District MS Society, Swings and Smiles, The Volunteer Centre West Berkshire, Naomi House and Jacksplace, PALS West Berkshire and Newbury Athletic Club. In 2018, over £13,354 was raised and split between PALS and Newbury AC.
