Weekend overview 10th/11th August

British Master Championships – Birmingham

The club had a lot of success at the British Masters Athletics championships in Birmingham over the weekend of 10th/11th August.

  • Simon Barrett was 1st in the M65 100 & 400 and 2nd in the 200.
  • Craig Beecham was 1st in the M45 long jump & triple jump, 3rd in the 200 & set a new PB of 12.17 to finish 5th in the 100.
  • Bob Broadbridge was 1st in the M60 heavy hammer, 2nd hammer and 4th in shot and discuss.

2nd claim members Phil Coleman and Deborah Montgomery we’re also in action with Phil 5th in the M55 1500 and Deborah 1st W50 discuss & javelin, 2nd shot & 3rd hammer.

Road league – Burnham Beeches 10km

Just 4 members took part in today’s Burnham Beeches 10km, giving them all a victory in their respective age categories in the club road league championship.

Barry Regan led them home in 8th place in 38:30, Wayne Lillis was 46th in 43:58, Liz Harkness was 237th (1st V70) in 57:17 and Hannah Coxhead was 505th in 1:13:55.

BMC Grand Prix Salford

Harry Russell ran a 1:50.80 to finish 4th in the 800m B race
